Dr. Dan is an assistant professor of chemistry at Roanoke College. He started at Roanoke College in 2023 after teaching at UCLA for 3-years as the Donald J. Cram Assistant Adjunct Professor through the Teacher-Scholar Program. The Teacher-Scholar Program also allow him to conduct post-doc research in the lab of Prof. Neil Garg. Dr. Dan received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Michigan with Prof. Corinna Schindler. His desire to become an organic chemistry professor began as an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he conducted research for five years with Dr. Mitchell Croatt. Dr. Dan’s research group, the Nas Lab, focuses on developing future leaders in chemistry.
